Theater Classes for Scandinavian children

The Barrow Grou (recipient of the Drama Desk Award) is a non-profit theater organization. Founded in 1986 The Barrow Group offers classes in Scene Study, Improvisation, Film and TV.

Sidse Ploug Sørensen DAnish actress and teacher at The Barrow Group is now offering two theater classes for Scandinavian children age 7-10 and 11-14. sidse was the executive director and teacher for the children's program at Krudttønden Theater in Copenhagen, and has taught and directed workshops at numerous Schools in Denmark.

Through improvisation, theater games, exercises and scene work, the children gain an awareness of their own voice and expression, and learn to trust their impulses and ideas. The scene work also strengthens the children's ability to work together on stage, listening to - and build upon others ideas and imagination.

The classes are ongoing, and both classes will work towards a theater production in the fall.

Time and place:

Saturdays (starting May 10th) 12noon-2pm and 2pm-4pm.
